Life at School Once again I was very lucky to work at MLC.
In 2007 we created some really stunning murals that now grace the walls outside the artroom in the new Junior School. The students had a lot of fun creating all the seperate felts that would be turned into school uniform and flesh tones, trees and pathways. When everything was felted we added embroidery for hair and faces as well as hair ribbons, balls, books, skipping ropes and black button shoes.
You may notice a silver star on each student - these replicate the school badge.

Creating funky things in felt is the best fun. The students have made some fabulous creatures, masks
and puppets which were later used for drama and play acting sessions. The most recent project is
a very large mural - still in progress! This will be installed in the gorgeous new junior school and
will show activities in the school grounds and the school camp location on the Gippsland Lakes.
The students have taken to felt like ducks to water! The new art room is wonderful and we have had many happy days playing with mounds of fleece and tubs of "sludge"! |
